Nothing too fancy actually. The advanced study interface just gives you a couple of extra (undocumented) controls on the exercise page. Basically it lets you turn off the automatic system that decides when to introduce new material (facts) into your active list and you get to control this manually instead using an "Add Fact" button. You also get a "Remove Fact" button which you can use if you've gotten yourself in too deep with too much new material. Feel free to give it a try - you can always switch back to the simple interface at any time.
Hello! When I first started studying here on the site, I would go through the entire sections of the discontinued language area and the regular grammar area before you started listing the entire index of all the sentences with audio. Is there a way to start all over so that the review area reflects where I am actually at. I went to the settngs.,but I did not want to check the advanced box until I've understood 'now' what will happen.
Wow, has it been 3 days since I checked the forums? I've been soooo busy...
There are a couple of ways to achieve what you're trying to do.
If you just want to start all over again, the easiest way is to create a new "student". Click on the "Students" link in the main menu on the left hand side of the page and then click on the "Help" link. Basically you can have up to 5 students using the same account and Language Speedway will track each student's progress separately (so for example each student gets separate review lists). So if you create a new student and then select that new student each time you log in you'll be able to start again from scratch. If you're absolutely positively certain that you don't want your old progress information anymore then you can delete the old student, but be warned that this operation is not reversible.
If you don't want to start all over again but you just want to remove some of the study items from your review lists then you can try using the advanced study interface (as you've guessed). This gives you a couple of extra options on the study screen, including a "remove fact" option. When an item comes up in your review list that you don't want to study anymore, just click the "remove fact" button to make it go away. Incidentally, you can't really do any serious damage with the advanced study interface and you can always disable it again, so feel free to play with it.
