The phrases in this lesson use the words qui and qua, meaning here, and the words lì and là, meaning there. The two different versions of here are largely interchangeable, as are the two versions of there, however there is sometimes a subtle difference in usage. The words qui and lì tend to refer to a more precise location, whereas the words qua and là tend to refer to a more general, approximate location, somewhat like the phrases over here and over there in English. To avoid confusion, in this course we will always translate qua and là as over here and over there respectively.
