Our first promotion here at Language Speedway is a big one. We’re giving away free lifetime memberships to our first 100 registered members.
Your lifetime membership will provide you with free, unlimited access to all the online courses that are ever published by Language Speedway, for the rest of your life. See “How to claim” below to find out how to take advantage of this offer.
But the site is free anyway, isn’t it?
Well, right now it is. But it won’t be for long. As soon as we’ve developed a few more Italian lessons, the more advanced lessons will be available by subscription only. Unless, of course, you’re one of the lucky few who get in early with one of these free memberships.
Why are we doing this?
To get the word out. We’re hoping that once you start using the site you’ll love it so much that you’ll tell your friends. And then they’ll tell their friends and so on. Somewhere down the line we hope to recoup our initial investment in subscription fees from all the people that you help bring to the site. Of course you’re under no obligation to recommend the site to anyone. And in fact if you don’t like the site and you feel it necessary to warn people away then that’s fine too. We just really hope you don’t decide to do that :)
What’s the catch?
Here are the conditions of this offer:

Limit of one membership per person and per unique IP address. This is to prevent people from abusing the offer and registering multiple accounts.

Use it or lose it. If you don’t take advantage of your membership then we will revoke it and give it to someone else who appreciates it more. We don’t intend to make it difficult to satisfy this condition - if you log in and do a few minutes worth of exercises a few times per month then you’ll be fine. If we decide to revoke your lifetime membership for this reason then we’ll attempt to contact you first to discuss it.

Offer ends March 31st 2008 or when 100 users have signed up, whichever happens first (we’re hoping to have 100 users signed up well before March 31st though).

Ok, number 4 is just there to cover ourselves for unforeseen circumstances. They are free accounts after all - we can’t afford to get into a dispute with someone about whether or not they deserved to lose their membership. We don’t really intend to just randomly revoke memberships for no reason at all. It’s just that there might be situations we haven’t thought of yet where it’s clear that someone deserves to lose their membership (like the member engages in some kind of illegal or abusive conduct).
How to claim
To take advantage of this promotion all you need to do is register a new account using the Register link in the menu on the left and enter the promotional code “sitelaunch” into the appropriate box.
Existing Users
All users who registered an account before this promotion started have been included retrospectively. Just log in and click on the new “Discounts” menu item to verify that you have your 100% discount.
